Casal Santa Maria

Casal Santa Maria is a leading wine producer in Colares, on the slopes of the Sintra mountains, very close to the Atlantic Ocean and Cabo da Roca. The property has ancient roots, with its main house built in 1720, and has become one of the most unique Portuguese wine projects due to its combination of dramatic landscape, maritime influence, and an improbable history.

The producer's modern vision was born from the hands of Baron Bodo von Bruemmer. After a life full of adventures and having bought the property in the 1960s, it was at the age of 96 that he decided to plant the first vineyards in 2006. The result was a portfolio that seeks to showcase the freshest, most saline, and elegant side of this Atlantic terroir, with varieties that have adapted very well to the area, such as Malvasia, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Today, the legacy continues with Nicholas von Bruemmer and the winery team, keeping its own identity alive.
