Description
On the slopes of the Upper Douro, at altitude and in soils that are a transition between schist and granite, Colinas do Douro seeks wines of great precision, freshness and terroir identity.
🍇 Region: Upper Douro, in transitional soil between schist and granite.
👨🔬 Winemaker: Jorge Rosa Santos and Rui Lopes.
🌱 Grapes: Gouveio, Viosinho and Moscatel Galego.
🛠️ Winemaking: Fermentation focused on expressing the fruit and mineral character, with aging in wood to add depth and complexity.
⏳ Aged: 6 months in 500L French oak barrels with bâtonnage.
🌿 Vineyards: Vineyards in the Upper Douro region, planted at altitude, with a fresh profile and mineral character.
🧪 Analysis:
- Alcohol content: 13.4%
- pH: 3.46
- Total acidity: 5.4 g/L
- Residual sugar: < 1 g/L
👃 Organoleptic Test:
- Color: greenish.
- Aroma: very present fruit, with notes of orange and ripe lemon.
- Palate: structured, with fine toasty notes, lively acidity and a long finish.
⏳ Potential for Evolution: A white reserve with the capacity to develop in the bottle, gaining breadth and complexity.
🍽️ Serving: Serve between 10ºC and 12ºC. Excellent with roasted fish, cod, richer seafood dishes, fish rice, and poultry.
