Vilacetinho House

Founded in 1790, Casa de Vilacetinho is part of the group of historic producers in the Vinho Verde region. The estate is located in Alpendorada, facing the Douro River, in a setting where the vines find granitic soils and an exposure predominantly favorable to grape ripening.

Avesso occupies a central place in the house's identity. It is a grape variety particularly linked to the interior of the region and capable of producing wines with more body, character, balance, and elegance than the lighter image often associated with Vinho Verde. The range explores different interpretations of the variety, from straightforward and fresh versions to Reserva, Grande Reserva, Curtimento, Natureza Bruta, and Natureza Âmbar.

Casa de Vilacetinho also works with Alvarinho and blends of Avesso with other grape varieties, as well as less conventional offerings. The Vinhão & Avesso Palhete, for example, results in a light-colored, fresh, and elegant red wine, made with skin contact and aged in ceramic. This diversity showcases a house that preserves a legacy spanning over two centuries, while continuing to experiment with new ways of expressing the cultural heritage and territory of Amarante.
