Deserted Mountains
Born in Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in the Douro Valley, Montes Ermos is the most "gourmet" face of the local Cooperative Winery, a house with cooperative roots (founded in 1959) that, over time, has modernized its way of working without losing its territorial character.
In its wines, the signature is clear: well-present fruit, balance, and an elegant spicy side, with ranges that go from the more relaxed profile to the Reserva and Grande Reserva, where aging in wood brings more depth and complexity.
And there's a nice detail that shows the connection with the land: the cooperative has also developed products such as olive oil and olives, including the valorization of Negrinha de Freixo DOP (preserved olives). It's the Douro appearing not only in the glass, but in the entire culture at the table.
