Vieira de Sousa Porto Tawny 10 Years Cask XXI 50cl

Description

Vieira de Sousa Porto Tawny 10 Anos Cask XXI 50cl is a wine from the Vieira de Sousa family, produced in the Douro region with a focus on expressing the terroir and elegance.

🍇 Region: Douro

👨‍🔬 Winemaker:

🌱 Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa,

🛠️ Winemaking: All the grapes that gave rise to this excellent wine come from the Family's own vineyards, all located on the banks of the Douro River. Fermentation with maceration of the skins to extract the best constituents was carried out in old granite lagares (traditional wine presses) with foot treading. The addition of brandy is done with great care, allowing it to blend with the tannins and sugars of these blends. Aged in oak barrels and casks for 10 years or more.

⏳ Stage: Large barrels

🧪 Analysis:
Alcohol content: 19.5% vol.
- Residual sugar: 113.0 g/L
pH: 3.62

👃 Organoleptic Test:
- Notes: Dried fruits and ripe red plum with pronounced brown tones, demonstrating evolution in wood. TO SAVE OR SERVE? Bottled after a long aging in wood, this Port is ready to drink and does not benefit from further bottle aging. The bottle should be kept upright, avoiding direct light and excessive humidity, ideally at a constant temperature (around 16°C-18°C). Once opened, it retains good tasting notes for approximately 2 months. Decanting is not necessary.

🍽️ Serving: Serve slightly chilled; ideally between 12–16ºC (depending on the style).
Excellent with aged cheeses, chocolate, dried fruits and desserts; also perfect on its own.

⏳ Potential for Evolution: Store in a cool, dark place; some styles benefit from bottle aging.
