Eruptio
Eruptio is born where the earth boiled. In the black vineyards of Pico Island, nestled between volcanic stone walls and the ever-present Atlantic, this project reveals the purest essence of the Azores. Conceived by winemaker António Maçanita, Eruptio seeks to interpret the islands' extreme terroir, respecting historical grape varieties and ancestral practices.
The vineyards grow in basaltic lava soils, poor in organic matter but incredibly rich in identity. Here, the Atlantic climate shapes wines that are tense, saline, and full of character, where minerality is the protagonist and intervention is minimal.
Eruptio is not just wine: it is landscape, history, and geology bottled. Each bottle translates the power of the volcano, the influence of the sea, and the authenticity of one of Europe's most unique terroirs.
