Herdade da Anta de Cima Talha Argilla Alfrocheiro 2018 Alentejo Red Wine 75cl

ALFROCHEIRO IN CLAY JARS MMXVII This wine originates in the Montargil mountains, in the Alto Alentejo region, at the Herdade da Anta de Cima estate, owned by the Tenreiro family, in a temperate climate with an average annual rainfall of 650mm, and on Mediterranean clay soils. At Anta de Cima, the last vineyards were uprooted in the 1950s, and as a testament to this, the old clay amphora cellar still stands. In 2009, the vineyard was revived, and in 2009 the first clay wines, white and red, were produced. HARVESTING YEAR We characterize the year 2009 as a rather atypical and challenging year from a production standpoint. With a winter that had well below-normal rainfall, followed by a spring and summer with very hot temperatures and large temperature spikes, resulting in quite irregular ripening and vineyards under water stress. 👃 Organoleptic Test:

• Aroma: Nose marked by clay, forest and spices, with further notes of quince, mint and chocolate.
• Palate: On the palate, its quite lively tannins stand out, with a hint of jam, but it becomes balanced by its structure and minerality.
