Dão Álvaro Castro 2019 is a red wine that faithfully represents the tradition and elegance of the Dão region, with a fresh, balanced and very gastronomic profile. Produced with typical grape varieties from the region, such as Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz , this blend reflects the classic style of producer Álvaro Castro , one of the most respected names in Portuguese viticulture.
The grapes come from vineyards that are 15 to 30 years old , planted at an altitude of 500 meters , in granite soils with clay and sand lines . The wine is aged for 12 months in second-use French Allier oak barrels , giving it structure, elegance and a very balanced profile.
