🛠️ Winemaking: Vieira de Sousa 40 Year Old Tawny is produced with grapes from our old vineyards along the Douro River. Fermentation took place in lagares (traditional stone troughs) with foot treading. After fortification with wine brandy, the wine aged for many years in casks and old oak barrels in our cellars throughout the Douro Valley.

👃 Organoleptic Test:
Notes: Toasted color with a brown top and a green halo around it (very characteristic of old Ports). On the nose, a wine from another era, but very lively and delicate. A fabulous concentration of coffee and liqueur that comes through the palate with a long finish.
🍽️ Serving: Serve slightly chilled; ideally between 12–16ºC (depending on the style).
Excellent with aged cheeses, chocolate, dried fruits and desserts; also perfect on its own.
⏳ Potential for Evolution: Store in a cool, dark place; some styles benefit from bottle aging.
