Founded in 1850 by João Gonçalves Henriques, Henrique & Henriques is one of the most important Madeira wine houses and maintains a deep connection with Câmara de Lobos. The current name was adopted in the 20th century when the founder's sons, João Joaquim and Francisco Eduardo Henriques, continued the family project and consolidated the brand that is now recognized in various markets.
