Casa do Capitão Mor & Cizeron Unfiltered Alvarinho 2020 Vinho Verde Branco 75cl
Description
Unfiltered Alvarinho 2020 is an irreverent, bold and deeply authentic wine, the result of a collaboration between Casa do Capitão-mor , winemaker Henrique Cizeron and Paulo MG Ramos . Produced in the Monção e Melgaço sub-region, this Alvarinho represents a marginal and artisanal approach to winemaking — and that’s what makes it so special.
The grapes come from limestone-alkaline clay soils covered with pebbles , in an area of ancient river terraces of the Minho River. Fermentation ends in used French oak barrels , aged for 15 months , including 8 months of bâtonnage , without racking, filtration or tartaric stabilization . After bottling, the wine ages for an additional 28 months in bottle .
