Quinta das Chaquedas – Lote 5
Quinta das Chaquedas brings to life the Lote 5 project, born within the family and inspired by the union of five elements—hence the name. The grapes come from the Rio Torto valley in São João da Pesqueira (Cima-Corgo, Douro), where the estate owns old vines, including century-old plots with a great diversity of grape varieties. The result is wines with a strong Douro identity, from blended red and white wines to Reservas and Grandes Reservas.
At the estate, it is possible to book visits to the vineyard and winery, with tastings of wines and local products—a direct way to get to know the people and the soils behind each bottle.
Among the recent highlights is the Lote 5 Vinhedos Históricos (red), from a vineyard over 100 years old and a "field blend" of dozens of grape varieties, recognized by critics for its elegance and depth. The range also includes Grande Reserva Tinto and Grande Reserva Branco, which express the strength of the Douro in small-production editions.
