Serving an Alvarinho too cold dulls aromas; serving it too warm enhances the alcohol. The balance lies between 8–10°C , where acidity and freshness shine.

  • Young stainless steel Alvarinho : best at 8ºC , to maintain tension and citrus notes.
  • Alvarinho aged in wood or lees : gains complexity at 10–11 ºC , where texture and volume stand out.

3) How to achieve the right temperature

  • Home refrigerator: 2–3 hours before serving.
  • Ice bucket: 20 min for young wines; 10–15 min for wines with oak.
  • Practical tip : remove the bottle 5 minutes before serving to stabilize.

4) Suitable cup

Choose tulip- shaped white wine glasses. They bring out the citrus and mineral aromas typical of the granite terroir of Monção and Melgaço .
