Of all the birds in the Douro, Papa Figos is one of the rarest. A lively and attractive migratory bird. The female Papa Figos, dressed in greenish tones, is the perfect image to evoke this unique wine from Casa Ferreirinha. Papa Figos Branco is an ideal Douro wine to be consumed every day or for special occasions. An elegant and vibrant wine, classic and at the same time modern, which translates the essential values of Casa Ferreirinha, the house with the greatest tradition in the production of quality Douro wines and one of the biggest references in this region in the world.
Vinification
Grapes of selected varieties from the upper areas of the Douro Superior sub-region. In these high altitude areas, grapes with the desired ripeness and acidity are chosen for this type of wine. After gentle destemming, the grapes are pressed and the must clarified by static decanting at low temperature. This is followed by a long alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC.
Maturation
During the period between the alcoholic fermentation and the execution of the final batch, the existing batches are subjected to numerous tests and analyses, in order to ascertain their quality. The final batch is prepared after careful selection and submitted to a clarification and stabilization treatment before bottling.
